"That this Committee notes that the Council is reviewing the Pay Parking Bye-Laws in the County and proposes that the each household in Sarsfield Park and Lucan Village be allocated a free (Zero charge) Resident Permit, 1 free visitor permit (with the house number /address of the householder identified on the permit) and a second or subsequent visitor permit at a cost of 20 Euro."
"That this Area Committee, further to previous repeated discussions on this matter, expresses its disappointment that the Planning Authority, in granting permission to application SD12A/0115 for construction of a new primary school at St. Edmundsbury, failed not only to require implementation of measures to improve the efficiency and safety of junctions at Chalet Gardens and Roselawn, but more worryingly failed to require that any junction assessments to be carried out and therefore requests the Road Department to:
- Firstly conduct its own assessment of the Lucan Road - Chalet Gardens junction, based on the traffic count data provided in the appendix to the submitted Traffic Report [noting in particular that 113 vehicles leave Chalet Gardens (movements 3 &4) in the 8:30-9:15 peak AM period] and to take account of the impact of the proposed creation of new turning lanes on Lucan Road;
- Secondly conducts a separate traffic count and assessment of the Lucan Road - Roselawn junction, to include assessment of traffic generated by Coláiste Phadraig secondary school and to take account of the impact of the proposed creation of new turning lanes on Lucan Road;
- Thirdly, brings a report back to this Area Committee within three months on the findings of these junction assessments with recommendations, if appropriate, for measures to improve the efficiency and safety of these junctions."
"That the Lucan Area Committee, noting the decision of the Government, to merge the CPLN and DVP Area Based Partnerships, registers its support for the work of CPLN in the Lucan Electoral Area, and requests the Manager to write to the Department of Environment, Community and Local Government, conveying the view of the Committee that it supports the work of CPLN and is of the view that any proposed merger should protect specific projects of CPLN in the Lucan EA, the presence, in terms of location of Partnersrhip and project staff in the CPLN Area, and ensure that the services provided for communities in the CPLN area, including the Lucan EA, are continued."
"That this Committee requests the Manager, in seeking future NTA funding, to prioritise measures to improve pedestrian and cycle activity, in particular among school-aged children, along Grange Castle Road between Willsbrook/Ballyowen and Lucan Road junctions, including provision of guard-railing at the footpath edge outside Hermitage & Ballyowen Park estates."
