Arts Programme Update
That this Council liaises with the OPW with a view to providing, on completion of the Whitechurch Stream Flood Alleviation Scheme, a 'letter of comfort' for residents whose properties have been affected by flooding prior to the completion of the works, to assist them in obtaining flood insurance going forward.
That the Council please move the bin from its current position on the Main Street in Rathfarnham Village, back up to beside the new seating area, where it is badly needed. Please see attached photo.
That this Council considers introducing Sustainable Urban Drainage solutions at Grange Park in Rathfarnham.
To ask the chief executive if an update could be provided on the 2026 road works programme and a schedule of work for the next three months could be provided?.
To ask the Chief Executive whether EV charging infrastructure will be considered in co-operation with the ESB as part of the future County Development Plan.
To ask the Chief Executive if the road surface on Rathfarnham Road will be restored or flattened to original condition as part of the road opening licence issued to GMC Utilities working on behalf of Uisce Éireann as the current surface is uneven for cyclists and motor vehicles?.
To ask the Chief Executive if the tree maintenance schedule for the next three months for the Rathfarnham Templeogue Firhouse Bohernabreena areas could be provided to the Area Committee?.
This Committee requests that the potholes (including one adjacent to a manhole cover) on Butterfield Avenue opposite the Marian Road junction are added to the upcoming works list.
To ask the chief executive if an update can be provided in relation to the provision of a public water fountain adjacent to Ballyroan Library as per a motion that was agreed at a previous ACM?.
That the Manager have the old stone wall at the footpath on Edmondstown Road, Ballyboden, along the Owendoher river repaired. There are broken areas of the wall opposite Ballyboden Primary Care centre up to opposite Beechview. The old wall is part of Ballyboden and Rathfarnham heritage and should be restored that respects our heritage. The wall has damage from roots of trees along the river that might need to be cut back.
That this area committee asks if kerb drainage with rainwater inlets could be part of a SuDS solution on Grange Park Rathfarnham working in collaboration with local residents to reduce risk of flooding?.
That the Manager give an update report on the works needed to be done on the flooding problem at the pedestrian school crossing at Ballyroan Crescent D.16. There is a short time zone from when the schools close this summer until they open at the end of August when work can be done.
That the elected members of this council express their solidarity with the workers at the National Ambulance Service who have been on strike due to the failure of the HSE to implement a 2020 report on improved pay scales reflecting the increased workload and responsibilities of frontline workers, and that a letter be issued to the Minister for Health and the HSE calling on them to immediately implement the recommendations of the report.
RAISING OF HOUSING LOANS - FOR APPROVAL
To ask the Chief Executive for an update on the implementation of motion 9 from March 2025 full council meeting on housing for those leaving domestic violence refuges and if any funding is required in next years budget to ensure its implementation.
To ask the Chief Executive what data the Council holds on levels of poverty and deprivation among its social housing tenants, including tenants under HAP and Ras arrangements and whether the Council has considered this data in the drafting of the Differential Rent Scheme.
To ask the Chief Executive to report on what steps the Council has taken to implement motion 4 passed in February 2026, which called for a consultation with tenants, tenants unions and organisations with expertise in poverty prior to the drafting of any new Differential Rent Scheme, to include the dates of any consultation held, the organisations involved and any submissions received.
That this Council calls on the Government to abolish the Universal Social Charge (USC) in Budget 2027 recognising that it was introduced as a temporary emergency measure during the financial crisis and that workers and families continue to face significant cost-of-living pressures.
