QUESTION: Councillor W. Lavelle

"To ask the Manager for a detailed update on the design work for the Willsbrook Road cycle route scheme; to advise if crossings at the Castle Road roundabout are to be included as requested by local schools and parents; and to provide a further response to the issues raised in discussions on my motion at the June meeting relating to traffic lanes approaching the Grange Castle Road junction?"

REPLY:

It is proposed that the design of a pilot scheme on Griffeen Way be completed and construction commence this year. This pilot scheme will include additonal crossings at the Griffeen Road and Castle Road roundabouts.
Detailed design has not yet commenced on the traffic lanes approaching the Grange Castle Road junction. It is proposed to carry out this detailed design on Willsbrook Road cycle route scheme on successful completion of the pilot scheme.
