QUESTION: Councillor W. Lavelle

"To ask the Manager to ensure that the highly dangerous Halloween bonfire on the embankment between Droim Na Coille and the Traveller accommodation site, adjoining Grange Castle Road, is not permitted to take place this year?"

REPLY:

The Council will continue in its effort to prevent bonfires this year. The approach is outlined below. Council staff will be active in preventing bonfires throughout the County in the run up to Halloween.

The Council and  Tallaght Community Arts are arranging workshops with youth groups in Tallaght and North Clondalkin. The workshops will teach the art of lantern and  figure  making to young people. The events will take place in Tallaght and North Clondalkin.
