COMHAIRLE CONTAE ÁTHA CLIATH THEAS
SOUTH DUBLIN COUNTY COUNCIL
MEETING OF LUCAN AREA COMMITTEE
Tuesday, September 25, 2012
MOTION NO. 19
MOTION: Councillor E. Tuffy
Cathaoirleach's Business
"That this Committee notes that the Council is reviewing the Pay Parking Bye-Laws in the County and proposes that the each household in Sarsfield Park and Lucan Village be allocated a free (Zero charge) Resident Permit, 1 free visitor permit (with the house number /address of the householder identified on the permit) and a second or subsequent visitor permit at a cost of 20 Euro."
REPORT:
To operate with effect it is important that a respected system of parking permits is established in the County’s pay and display parking areas. It is therefore essential that such permits are valued. Most residents’ and visitor permits are applicable to areas that, by design, discourage non-resident parking. To cover the cost of administrating permit issue and assisting in the function of patrolling the residential areas it is appropriate that a charge is applied to these permits.
Should it be deemed that the parking arrangements have no value to residents those areas inclusion as a pay and display zone can be considered.
