That this Area Committee calls on SDCC to explore the concept of a recreational sports hub similar to the one in Porterstown Castleknock. The Clondalkin LEA is without a recreational facility similar to Porterstown which includes a six lane synthetic running track together with all weather pitch built to FIFA approved standards. Given the demographical increases in the Clondalkin LEA and the enormous health and sporting benefits of such a facility, will the Council support such a facility and identify potential sites in the Clondalkin LEA.
