MOTION: Councillor E. Ó Broin
That this Area Committee agrees to erect an information sign at the point on the footpath in Clondalkin Park where the Camac overflow crosses it during periods of inundation in order to describe the 'Camac overflow mechanism' there to the general public.
REPORT:
Natural Water have reviewed the location in question and acknowledge that during extreme rainfall events, the pathway at Clondalkin Commons is liable to flooding.
The reason for the overflow across the footpath is part of a Flood Alleviation design feature that was installed some years ago.
After discussion's with our Public Realm team, it has been agreed they will install temporary flooding signs at this location after an extreme rainfall event.
Temporary signage size and type will be agreed with Public Realm to make sure if conform's with SDCC's branding policy before erection.
