MOTION: Councillor W. Carey

That this Area Committee agrees that traffic calming measures are required along Lock View Rd and that Council should consider chicanes along the long stretch (particularly along the street where new housing has been added at Melrose/Lindisfarne).

REPORT:

The Council will assess the request for traffic calming measures on Lock View Road for inclusion in the next Traffic Calming Programme. The feasibility of a chicane will be considered as one of the traffic calming options in the full assessment.  Any subsequent delivery of traffic calming measures will be subject to the outcome of the technical assessment, a public consultation, and the availability of funding.
