To ask the Chief Executive for a report on the current extent of the invasive plant species rhododendron ponticum within the county, including the locations affected, any significant changes in its spread in recent years, areas of particular concern, the measures being undertaken to control or eradicate the species, and the effectiveness of these measures to date.

That this Council calls on the Chief Executive to develop a new tourism initiative - "The South Dublin Explorer Passport" with the aim of promoting and encouraging visitors to South Dublin attractions and sites and supporting the existing South Dublin tourism strategy which runs to 2029.
That this Council, noting the commitments in the South Dublin County Council Pollinator Action Plan 2026–2030, Biodiversity Action Plan, Green Infrastructure Strategy and Climate Action Plan, and Maynooth University research highlighting the potential of industrial estates, business parks and other enterprise lands to support pollinator corridors and ecological connectivity, calls on the Chief Executive to examine and report on how the Council’s existing biodiversity and pollinator objectives could be extended beyond Council-owned lands through engagement with management companies, employers, landowners and business park operators.
That this Council shall adopt a proactive, sympathetic and facilitative policy towards applications for retention permission in respect of habitable residential accommodation located within the curtilage of an existing dwelling, where that accommodation is in use as a home, and in the exercise of its enforcement discretion under Part VIII of the Planning and Development Act 2000, the Council shall have regard to the acute shortage of housing and to the fact that enforcement against a unit that is functioning as somebody's home removes a dwelling from the county's housing stock at the worst possible moment.
That the Chief Executive reviews the technology currently used to detect and report faulty public streetlights and in line with the Council's ambition to be a more digital Council examines introducing a more streamlined system incorporating automatic fault detection and simple location-based reporting for residents.
That the Chief Executive puts in place a criteria based approach to facilitate a process whereby an evaluation could be carried out on a phased basis, to identify trees of amenity value within the County, starting with those likely to be more at risk, with a view to making them the subject of Tree Preservation Orders or otherwise protecting them, and to furnish information to the public in this regard pursuant to Policy NCBH11 Objective 2 of our County Development Plan.

That this Council agrees that sorting offices are vital community services and calls on An Post and the Minister for Culture, Communications and Sport, to immediately halt any plans to relocate any sorting offices currently situated in South Dublin County.
That this Council expresses its concern regarding the water demands of data centres and, in light of increasing pressure on water resources, agrees to write to the Minister for Climate, Energy and the Environment, the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage, and Uisce Éireann seeking a report on: the volumes of water used by data centres; the proportions evaporated and discharged as blowdown water; and the monitoring, treatment and environmental controls in place to ensure that any discharges do not adversely affect public health, water quality or biodiversity.
That this Council writes to the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage urging him to complete and publish the long-awaited review of social housing income eligibility thresholds, increase the thresholds without delay, and introduce an index-linked mechanism to ensure they remain up to date in future years.
That this Council writes to the Minister for Transport requesting that the National Driver Licence Service (NDLS) introduce a cash payment option for its services.
