MOTION NO. 2

MOTION: Councillor F. Timmons

That this Council endorses the End Discrimination of Inheritance Tax (EDIT) campaign and calls on the Minister for Children, Disability and Equality, Norma Foley and Tánaiste and Minister for Finance, Simon Harris to commit to harmonising the inheritance laws and bands so that people with no direct descendants are treated as equal to families with children in inheritance law and succession planning.

If the motion is passed letters will be issued to the Minister for Equality, Norma Foley, and Tánaiste & Minister for Finance Simon Harris; the responses, when received, will be circulated to the Members.
