Our Housing Maintenance and Refurbishment section undertakes re-let works on our vacant housing stock across the County, with the objective of returning homes to productive use and making them available for allocation as quickly as possible. In August'26, the average turnaround time from the date a property was surrendered to the date it was allocated was 17.36 weeks.
There are currently 62 vacant council homes, representing approximately 0.58% of our total housing stock. The breakdown of vacant properties by Local Electoral Area and current status is set out in the table below:
| Electoral Area | Survey | In Progress | Ready | Totals |
| Clondalkin | 4 | 7 | 3 | 14 |
| Lucan | 0 | 2 | 0 | 2 |
| Palmerstown-Fonthill | 2 | 8 | 3 | 13 |
| Tallaght South | 3 | 17 | 5 | 25 |
| Tallaght Central | 0 | 0 | 2 | 2 |

| Rathfarnham-Templeogue | 0 | 2 | 0 | 2 |
