QUESTION: Councillor E. Ó Broin
To ask the Chief Executive to list the roads that do not have paid parking or double yellow lines that South Dublin Parking Services patrol?
REPLY:
There is no list of roads within the South Dublin County Council administrative area that are exempt from parking enforcement patrols.
Due to the limited number of traffic wardens available, enforcement resources are prioritised in the main village, town centre and commercial areas where traffic volumes are highest and where parking turnover is critical to supporting businesses, accessibility and the efficient movement of traffic. As a result, regular patrol activity is generally concentrated in these locations rather than in predominantly residential areas.
However, all public roads remain subject to the relevant parking regulations and may be monitored by Parking Services who may, from time to time and as operational resources permit, undertake visits to residential or lower-demand areas. Such visits may involve advisory engagement, the issuing of warning notices, or patrols aimed at maintaining a visible enforcement presence.
