Cathaoirleach's Business
That this Committee calls on the Chief Executive, given that the process to take in charge The Paddocks is progressing, to accelerate the delivery of a permanent permeable link between The Paddocks and Hillcrest, and to outline what is involved in delivering the link — for example, initiating a consultancy process with residents to agree on the provision of such a link and preparing to apply for funding from the National Transport Authority — and to provide an indicative timeframe for the project from commencement to completion.
That the Council liaise with Ballyowen Castle Community Centre management about the placing of attractive signposts that point in the direction of the Community Centre and also let people know there is a community centre there - for e.g. on Ballyowen Lane and in the vicinity of the junction of the exit/entrance to Ballyowen Castle Shopping Centre.
That this Area Committee calls on the Manager to arrange for the existing yield signs at the roundabout between Dodsborough Road and the Old Celbridge Road (R835) to be updated to include bilingual text 'Yield / Géill Slí', in accordance with the Traffic Signs Manual, in order to promote the Irish language in the public realm.
Can the Chief Executive outline what would be required to introduce a period of free car parking in one of the village centres such as Lucan Village, including any operational, financial or regulatory considerations involved? I had received requests from local businesses and residents regarding the possibility of providing free parking over the Christmas period but given the timing of ongoing works and the need for sufficient lead-in time it did not appear feasible this year. I would appreciate clarification on the processes, timelines and requirements associated with introducing free parking as this may be considered for a future period particularly in Lucan Village.
To call on the Manager to install 'Road Narrows' signage before St. Joseph's College, Lucan travelling East and West on the Lucan Road (R835).
That the Council Roads Safety in conjunction with the Active travel section carry out or have carried out , a Safety Audit on recent changes by the school to the Lucan Heights Road at the entrance to St. Josephs / St. Marys Church, in relation to pedestrians safety in particular.

That this Committee requests the Manager to prepare a confidential report for this committee, identifying strategically important, historical or architecturally significant vacant or derelict buildings within our areas that could be considered for acquisition by South Dublin County Council through the Compulsory Purchase Order (CPO) process. This could contribute to bringing these properties back into use and contribute towards addressing local housing needs, the preservation of our built heritage and contribute positively towards community morale.
That this committee agrees that it is vitally important that the Coldcut lands remain as an amenity for the people of North Clondalkin and Palmerstown, that South Dublin County Council does not put the lands at the Coldcut out for public consultation on rezoning and that the Council compulsory purchase these lands as a matter of urgency

That this committee calls on the Chief Executive to arrange for the trimming of low-hanging trees along Griffeen Road, adjacent to the new cycle lanes beside Gaelscoil Eiscir Riada, as these trees are obstructing the footpath and forcing pedestrians, including children and parents, into the cycle lane. This presents a significant safety concern for those travelling to local schools and the Leisure Campus. This motion references Members Reps 1890021, 1894618, and 1905167, and your reference RMCCT01857
That the Area Committee requests the Chief Executive to install additional 'Dogs on Leash' signage at key access points and along routes within Griffeen Valley Park particularly in areas used for regular organised events including the weekly parkrun in order to support public safety, shared use of the park and responsible dog ownership.
To implore the manager to revisit the decision taken last year that resulted in a system of dangerous 'reverse parking' in order to use the busy bottle bank on Griffeen Road. In so doing, this assessment will prioritise road safety for motorists, cyclists and walkers in the first instance, by introducing a semi-circle, mini-roundabout or other deemed suitably safe system.
That this Area Committee calls on the Chief Executive to arrange an urgent inspection of the pedestrian bridge linking The Old Forge with Hayden's Park / Tullyhall which has been reported as sagging and showing signs of damage and to confirm: • the current structural condition of the bridge, • whether any immediate safety measures are required and • the timeline and funding source for any necessary remedial or repair works. This bridge forms part of a well-used pedestrian and recreational route and it is essential that any potential safety issues are addressed promptly to ensure continued safe access for residents, walkers, runners and families.
Environment
Questions
To ask the Chief Executive for an update on the Columbarium Wall at Esker Cemetery, including details on pricing, booking procedures, and any other relevant information.
Can the Chief Executive provide further detail on the agreed solar panel programme specifically outlining the proposed locations within the Lucan Area Committee area including any community or public sites and provide clarification on the exact locations and layouts where available? This is sought to allow Members to better understand the local impacts and opportunities arising from the programme.

That this Committee calls on the Chief Executive to present a headed item update on noise monitoring in the Lucan-Palmerstown North-Clondalkin area, including progress on the implementation of the Noise Action Plan 2024-2028. Given the consistently high noise levels recorded by the Lucan monitor, the update should outline what actions are planned to address this issue and the expected timeline for implementation.
That in relation to arrangements by the Council with local individuals or groups for the Christmas Tree lighting on the public realm in Lucan Village next year that councillors will be kept informed on a timely basis and collectively by the relevant section of the Council collectively as to what the arrangements are.
That this Committee request an update from the Chief Executive on the current status of the Lucan Village Green project including the anticipated timeline for completion and public opening noting that prolonged delays have contributed to public frustration as the community has yet to see the project in its completed form.
"This committee agrees to conduct an inspection of the increasingly busy school traffic situation at drop off / collection times for the three schools on Station Road, Adamstown, with such undertaking to specifically explore the current school traffic warden arrangement."
That the Chief Executive carries out air quality monitoring at night time in the vicinity of Esker Hill to Vesey Park - there is a smell of material being burned at night times in the vicinity so that the air is almost suffocating- also Esker Lawns and Cherbury - that needs investigating.
