MOTION: Councillor Joanna Tuffy

That the Council liaise with Ballyowen Castle Community Centre management about the placing of attractive signposts that point in the direction of the Community Centre and also let people know there is a community centre there - for e.g. on Ballyowen Lane and in the vicinity of the junction of the exit/entrance to Ballyowen Castle Shopping Centre.

REPORT:

The South Dublin County Council 3 Year Capital Programme includes for a Signage Manual for the County, which is yet to be commissioned. It is envisaged that the County-Wide Signage Manual will involve the formulation of Urban Wayfinding and Interpretive signage for application to urban areas across the County. Led by an initial Pilot for Tallaght Town Centre and Village, the intention of the manual is to establish signage templates that can be consistently applied to all wayfinding and interpretive signage.

Once the signage manual is established SDCC will consider the above location for the suitability of wayfinding signage.
