MOTION: Councillor L. O'Toole
That this Committee request an update from the Chief Executive on the current status of the Lucan Village Green project including the anticipated timeline for completion and public opening noting that prolonged delays have contributed to public frustration as the community has yet to see the project in its completed form.
REPORT:
The Council’s project team has requested an updated timeline from the Contractor, Bretland Construction Ltd., regarding the Lucan Village Enhancement Scheme. Comprising of the works at the Village Green, Demesne Park, and the Liffey Promenade (Weir).
The Contractor has advised that the works are expected to be completed by mid-March. They have also confirmed that additional supervisory staff have been assigned to the site to coordinate the remaining elements of the project and to prepare for the handover process.
The following significant works are to be carried out:
- The macadam paving of Lucan Road south of the Village Green, this has been scheduled for the 9th Feb for four nights.
- The completion of the paving surface and the landscape planting in the Village Green
- The bandstand and river side parapet wall
- The entrance to the Prominade at Watery Lane
- The Steps form the Lucan Bridge to the Prominade
- The in-wall seating at the Demesne Park Entrance.
