QUESTION: Councillor C. Brady

In light of the recent update at the January County Council meeting indicating that the Lucan Pool is being filled and that a February handover to the operator is planned, can the Chief Executive provide a formal update on the current status of the Lucan Pool project and make a statement on the matter?

REPLY:

Works are progressing well at Lucan Leisure Campus under the new main contractor. The main pool has been filled with water which is a major milestone in the project and is testing well. The building management system is operational.

Commissioning, completion and finishing works are ongoing and handover of the pool to the operator is expected at the end of February 2026. This will allow the operator to undertake their required set up and training in the pool with the intention of opening to the public by the end of March. Any remaining completion and remedial works will be completed by the main contractor during this period.
