MOTION: Councillor Joanna Tuffy

That the Council Roads Safety in conjunction with the Active travel section carry out or have carried out , a Safety Audit on recent changes by the school to the Lucan Heights Road at the entrance to St. Josephs / St. Marys Church, in relation to pedestrians safety in particular.

REPORT:

The Traffic Section has reviewed the request in relation to carrying out a Road Safety Audit on the recent changes undertaken by the school on Lucan Heights Road at the entrance to St. Joseph’s College / St. Mary’s Church.

Road Safety Audits for works of this nature are the responsibility of the developer who carried out the works, in accordance with standard practice and planning requirements. The Council does not undertake Road Safety Audits for developer led works.

South Dublin County Council will contact the developer to request the submission of a Stage 4 Road Safety Audit, which relates to post construction and operational safety, with particular regard to pedestrian safety at this location.

Any recommendations arising from the audit will be reviewed by the Council in the normal manner.
