To ask the CEO for an update on recent destruction of mat at the Cricket Pitch at Airlie Park, Lucan

REPLY:

A small fire occurred on one of the artificial cricket creases at Airlie Park in December 2025.  The damage resulted in the carpet being singed and fibres melting together.  The area of concern is approximately 56cm x 30cm.  The damage which is close to one of the wickets is to one side of the direct line of play.  A review of the impact that it will have on the game and the safe use of the area will be carried out to determine what works are required in this instance.
