Questions
"To ask the Chief Executive why it is that the tree stumps which were scheduled for removal last year, in tandem with tree replacement, has yet to take place?"
"To ask the Chief Executive to report on my request that a full tree programme be completed within Brookwood estate. The Chief Executive has accepted that the individual trees within the hedge have now grown to be very tall and have spread in width and would benefit from some height reduction and pruning, and vowed to reduce to combat wind stress during stormy weather conditions. Last year these trees were to have been inspected in detail and a specific programme of work formulated to deal with the concerns of the residents, whilst at the same time ensuring the preservation of this important planting. A full assessment of the remaining trees within the estate was also to be carried out to identify any possible safety issues which may exist. Could you please let me have a copy of the report and confirm what works were done since I requested this report and what works are scheduled to be done in 2015, with local residents stating that the tall trees identified by Council as needing height reduction and pruning owing to the likely hazard during stormy weather not having been done. As with all requests from me please provide a realistic time frame for completion of all such works?"
"To ask the Chief Executive that in the November ACM I asked that the council investigate the causes of the flooding in the lake in Tymon Park - beside St. Jude's, Templeogue Utd. and Faugh's. I was assured this would be investigated and fixed - if required. As there was flooding at this same point again in the last few weeks can I ask for a report as to the causes and remedies?"
"To ask the Chief Executive to provide details on the carrying out of the 2014-15 Arboricultural Programme for the area under the remit of this Committee, and to ask when it is proposed, given the work so far, to complete the programme presented to Councillors in November for winter works?"
"To ask the Chief Executive for a report on the Dublin 12 Laneway Cleansing Programme for the year 2014, and if it is proposed to continue the schedule for 2015, and to make a statement on the matter?"
"To ask the Chief Executive why there is enclosed greenery (green mesh metal with shrubs behind them) on the laneway between Idrone and Coolamber estates? What is the purpose of this structure?"
"To ask the Chief Executive to remove the trees, shrubs and bushes at the entrance to Knocklyon Ave as it is blocking the view of motorists trying to exit the Knocklyon Woods Estates?"
"To ask the Chief Executive to provide extra lighting at the laneway running along the back of Knockaire to Coolamber as it is very dark once you leave the tarmacadam path?"

Motions
"That the Chief Executive explain and update as to an item which I placed on the Agenda to this meeting back in March 2014 and concerning the beech trees in Brookwood. A full assessment was to be completed. Please can I have a copy of that assessment, along with details as to what works need to be done to maintain and preserve these trees. The Chief Executive in his reply to me rightly points out the importance of these trees but for the best part of 20 years this Council has abdicated responsibility for these same much loved trees."
"That the Chief Executive separates the issue of provision of a steps and railings at Woodview Cottages from the proposed cycleway works planned for this location - my request for same preceded such proposals and is needed regardless of plans."
"That the Chief Executive provide an update in relation to the development of sports facilities / pitches in Dodder Valley. As the Chief Executive will know there are a number of clubs - Knocklyon Utd, Ballyboden St. Enda's, Bros. Pearse AC and Templeogue AC all looking to know SDCC's plans."
"That the Chief Executive acts on the Motion passed by this ACM last year asking for trees and shrubs be removed from the upper Coolamber Estate where youths have been arrested for drug dealing beside St. Colmcilles School, Knocklyon."
Environment
Questions
"To ask the Chief Executive to undertake an illegal dumping check of Whitechurch Road and College Road Rathfarnham. Residents have noticed a considerable increase in the number of full black bags apparently dumped along this road from the Tuning Fork right up to Kilmashogue Roundabout. Please advise the best way for our residents to report incidents - should photos be included for example. Please also publish details of our Litter Management Plan to include plans/solutions to reduce/eliminate illegal dumping?"
"To ask that this Committee write to the owner of Marlay Grange House expressing grave concern at the noise levels, duration and unreasonably late finish of the party held there on November 1st, 2014 and taking into consideration the amount of residents from South Dublin CC area distressed by this social function, ask that this type of event with noise levels of this volume never occurs again?"
"To ask the Chief Executive that South Dublin County Council monitor fly tipping at Stocking Avenue as domestic waste is currently being dumped here on a near daily basis?"
"To ask the Chief Executive that at last September's Area Committee meeting I requested that the new litter bylaws be piloted in a local centre and village within the county - Maire Ni Dhomhnaill agreed that Orlagh Grove shops and Rathfarnham Village would be used for this pilot in terms of implementing the by laws- I would welcome an update on progress as local residents and Tidy Town people are interested in seeing how it is progressing?"
"To ask the Chief Executive how do Residents Associations apply for anti-graffiti paint?"

"That the Chief Executive provide an overall assessment as to how the Council allocated and spent the additional €138,000 received from the Department of Environment which was specifically allocated under Anti-Litter and Anti-Graffiti Awareness. Stocking Avenue area continues to be a litter black-spot with little sign of any attempts to improve the situation in the intervening time. How was the spending of this fund spread? How much was spent in Rathfarnham? Confirm how much of this funding was earmarked towards tackling the on-going and escalating general littering along Stocking Avenue and other litter black-spots within the Ward. Confirm how often the Council dispatch the litter picking/handcart along Stocking Avenue?"

"That the Chief Executive confirm with regard to the Web Project which has been funded for a number of years via the Community Services Programme (Central Government funding from the Dept of Social Protection) that central government funding will continue going forward given the payment of LPT. That if its the case that this source of funding cannot be confirmed going forward that alternative sources of funding be found. The Web Project not only provides local employment but also provides local people with local knowledge as to what is happening in their locality."
"That the Chief Executive investigates the viability of setting up a soccer or rounders street league for this AC. During the 80's there was a local street leagues which had teams of age groups from 8-12 and 12-15 from various streets play against other streets /estates on greens in the community. Played in the evenings from 5pm - 9 pm and it served many different purposes including keeping kids active and outside, helping kids from different estates to socialise while creating a sense of community pride in their estate or street while preventing kids getting involved in anti social behaviour etc."

Questions
"To ask the Chief Executive that Prospect Manor Drive and Prospect Manor Meadow be included for discussion as to inclusion in the ramp programme for the Rathfarnham area?"
"To ask the Chief Executive when the paths in Willowbank Drive and Orchardton which were to have been included in the footpath programme for 2015 will be done. Last year I asked that these paths be include and I was told in writing that the Area Engineer was requested to inspect the locations and any emergency repairs that are necessary would be carried out. No such repairs were carried out to the best of my knowledge and the paths are clearly getting worse. Can you please provide a specific date for the commencement of these works and a map of the specific paths, lest there be any confusion?"
"To ask the Chief Executive to prioritise the repainting of road markings on roads used by local Driving Testing Centres and Instructors. Many of the roads in our area are used for pre test lessons and we are also the route for tests. Details of test roads and junctions can be provided including details of where road markings are particularly worn?"
"To ask the Chief Executive if there are plans to deploy more traffic speed signs in our area similar to the recent installations on the N81 at Spawell. Please also confirm if we can review with our Gardaí any changes/improvements to driver behaviour following the installation of these speed signs?"
"To ask the Chief Executive that a commitment was entered into in the response to Ticket No. 995466 in May of 2013 and this has not been completed in respect of Hermitage Estate - can this be addressed without delay now, perhaps?"
"To ask the Chief Executive to consider traffic calming measures for the upper section of Prospect Manor as requested through me by local residents association?"
"To ask the Chief Executive that the on-road cycle track between Ballyboden Road and Pizza Hut be revisited by the Council's Roads Department. The residents who live on this section of road have always parked their cars on the road outside their homes and indeed one resident who converted his garden to a driveway had to convert it back at the behest of the Council - so they have nowhere else to park their cars and yet some of them have received parking fines for parking on the cycle path (which is illegal) - can alternatives be looked at here?"
"To ask the Chief Executive for a report on street lighting replacement works on the Greenhills Road, to state when all works (including removals) are due to be finished, and to make a statement on the matter?"
"To ask the Chief Executive for an updated report on all cycle lane schemes in the area under the remit of this Committee, and to make a statement on the matter?"

"That the Council outlines whether a three-hour maximum-stay parking arrangement can be entered into on a portion of Rosemount Car Park in Ballyroan, leaving a 30-40 space parking portion for free all-day parking - and to present a report to Councillors on whether this is feasible, desirable, practicable and enforceable - and also to outline what the impact of such an arrangement might be on local roads/residents."
"Pedestrian guard rails are used to separate pedestrians and vehicles at junctions. London recently removed 60kms of it's existing 200kms of pedestrian guard rails. That recognising the significant street clutter across the Rathfarnham/Templeogue/Terenure areas, a lack of visual appeal and the mixed evidence that they reduce pedestrian accidents, this motion seeks to start a discussion on the issue and requests South Dublin County Council policy on pedestrian guard rails."
"That the Chief Executive report on the general inspection of the Woodstown Estate paths that was carried out last year as certain paths in the area will be listed for inclusion in the 2015 footpath repair programme. Can you confirm the current status of Woodstown and what paths are included in this years schedule. As with all requests from me please provide a realistic time frame for completion of all such works."
"That the Chief Executive to provide an update to our Area Committee on the footpath repair program for our area for 2015. Please include in the update the proposed prioritised areas, the estimated waiting times for those on the list and details of the process for submitting requests."
"That the Chief Executive add the Moyville Estate, together with Ballimeece Lane which goes out onto the main Ballinascorny Road and Glasivalaun Lane are all included in the Road Gritting Schedule as these estates are situated at the foot of the mountains and have very sharp inclines which makes them lethal during icy and snowy conditions."
"That this Committee is presented with the Walkinstown Roundabout Study for discussion on the options proposed for traffic flow and pedestrian safety."
