That this Area Committee writes to Dublin Bus and the NTA with regard to providing a bus route between Lucan and Tallaght, especially given the existing bus lane and the connectivity to Kishoge Train Station.
The previous area committee (Lucan area committee) were given a presentation from HSE on the health care in Lucan some time ago. At that time I had proposed the introduction of speech therapists into our classrooms given my experience with speech therapy challenges and given that so many parents / children at the time had challenges and so many still do. Since then a pilot scheme was introduced by the then relevant Minister between Department Education and HSE. We agreed to write to the Minister for an update on the pilot, this committee now calls on the Chief Executive to invite the HSE to our area committee meeting to give a presentation on this pilot.
That the Chief Executive write again to GoAhead Ireland who operate the 18 bus service to and from Palmerstown to request that they respect the wishes of residents and this local area committee and refrain from parking busses in undesignated areas and exit the village using the existing bus route and not the smaller exit at Applegreen garage.
That this committee agree to write to the minister of Education seeking more places for children with ASD in the North Clondalkin area who are going into secondary level education in the coming years.

Motions

That the Chief Executive investigate the presence of rats in the Shancastle/Fonthill Rd area. Residents are reporting rodents coming from the fields/site north of St Kevins Community College and the Fonthill Retail Park.
That the Chief Executive makes a plan to provide additional lighting along walkways in suitable public parks for the winter months, as irrespective of car park closures at sunset many parks such as Griffeen Park (which is the area raised with me), Glenaulin Park and parts of Waterstown Park etc are used in the early evening by walkers, runners, cyclists, teenagers etc and it would provide a greater feeling of public safety to have marked routes identified up to a set time after sunset which would not interfere with wildlife, but which could be switched on quickly following any reports of antisocial behaviour so as to assist Garda and other services relating to same.
That this committee agrees that the tree outside address supplied to be removed due to it seriously affecting the living conditions of a young child who is visually impaired.
That this committee agrees to organise a site visit with the residents in Moorfield estate to discuss some landscaping ideas on the green space between Moorfield Green and the Credit Union on the Neilstown Road to address the poor condition and illegal dumping at this location.

Motions
This committee and its members have a significant role in monitoring the continuous development of the first SDZ in the county and country at Adamstown, which is still in the process of delayed development, and a second SDZ, at Clonburris, which is yet to commence. The members ask that separate SDZ meetings are added into the calendar (possibly at the alternate monthly 2.15 pm slot with the Traffic Management Meeting, prior to the Monthly LEA meeting). This will enable all stakeholders including the councillors to oversee progress and be kept fully informed. To date quarterly SDZ updates are included as a Headed Item in area committee meetings and while helpful, doesn't allow for sufficient time to discuss in detail issues raised by constituents, nor does it allow for these to be fully answered, given that the SDZ process involves a number of departments from time to time. This committee requests the Chief Executive makes the necessary arrangements.
This committee agrees to write to the Minister for Education requesting a timeline on the commencement and completion dates of the new building for Griffeen Community College.

Question Speed indicator Transport

That the chief executive apply to the NTA for funding at the next available opportunity to install the pedestrian and cycle way between Balgaddy and Thomas Omer road.
Moved without debtae.
Following on from previous motions passed in this committee in relation to the embankment between Moy Glas and Castle Riada this committee now requests the Chief Executive to update the members on the NTA plans for pedestrian/cycle along the embankment, and to include the photo montage which was also agreed by members and approved by management. Members are aware of previous designs/plans in 2012, it is hoped that new and revised plans would be examined. To date the area has been subjected to ongoing criminal activity and residents from both estates have been working together on this matter and are willing to work with all stakeholders on this.
To ask the Chief Executive Officer to write to the NTA to ask them to outline the reasons for the refusal to fund the extension of the Grand Canal Greenway between the 12th Lock and Hazel Hatch.
Moved without debate.
That the Manager provides a report on road by road footpath improvements over the last five years, outlines the areas scheduled for repair this year on a road/estate basis, indicates what scope exists for dealing with particularly bad footpaths on an individual basis, updates on whether any contractors have ever been ruled out of future contracts because of snag lists or delays in carrying out repairs; and if a statement can be made on the matter.
Moved without debate.
This Committee asks that the CE write to the NTA/TII requesting financial support for the proposed segregated junction at Kennelsfort road/R148 given that this is in line with the objectives of the current CDP and has now a greater urgency given the proposed road adjustments at this location to meet the needs of BusConnect as well as access to the new Childrens Hospital, and that the Chief Executive indicate what provision he intends to both part-fund and schedule the design of this long awaited piece of essential infrastructure.
Move to reenter.
Noting the recent accident outside St Mary's BNS to again ask the Manager to model and evaluate possible traffic management solutions through Lucan Village encompassing the area from the top of Chapel Hill to the village green.
Moved without debate.
