MOTION: Councillor L. O'Toole

Following the recent Irish Water clinic held this month, a discussion took place regarding the National plan For future reservoirs. As there is an ever increasing demand of water supply in the GDA and the challenges in the Lucan area, this committee requests the Chief Executive to make possible a presentation of this same plan for the Area committee.   

REPORT:

Irish Water are working on a National Water Resources Plan which is a 25 year strategy to provide a sustainable, secure and reliable drinking water supply.  Information on this plan is available on Irish Water's website www.water.ie  SDCC have facilitated public consultation and information presentations on this and other Irish Water projects and plans in the past and will continue to do so when requested.

Members are reminded that Irish Water have established a Local Representative Service Desk.  This Service Desk can be contacted at localrepsupport@water.ie or at 1850 178 178.  Irish Water also arrange Councillor Clinics and these have been taking place quarterly in SDCC, most recently on 11th February.
