"To ask the Chief Executive can the Council provide more rubbish bins outside of The Square Shopping Centre to prevent litter being thrown around by shoppers coming from The Square. That this Tallaght Area Committee calls on the Chief Executive to present a report on actions being taken in respect of the litter problem in Springfield Estate, Tallaght, as detailed in recent correspondence forwarded to the Council by a resident of Springfield Estate and copied to the Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government. Will he confirm efforts being made to deal with the problem and ask if this includes visits to the local Schools and will he give assurances in respect of the matter.

That this Committee notes the recent flooding that has taken place at 3 units in Bolbrook Drive when foul material was discharged into houses and the back gardens of residents. This Committee also notes that this has been an on-going problem in this area going back some time. This Committee calls on the Chief Executive to outline a programme of works that will resolve this matter and stop any further re-occurrence in the future.

"To ask the Chief Executive if the windows and doors for the resident, Ms. Bolger living at 9 Homelawns Gardens, can be listed for replacement as a matter of urgency and also listed for insulation. I visited this home several times and the windows are in extremely poor condition. Ms. Bolger’s daughter is currently on the medical priority list and is caring for an acutely disabled and blind child in this house. There are grave worries that the conditions in the house such as lack of heat will have a detrimental effect on the health of the child. I understand that there is a replacement programme currently in place but would ask if the Chief Executive would please prioritise this household?"

That this Committee calls on the Chief Executive to investigate intrusions by stolen cars on to the footpaths that traverse Whitestown Stream adjacent to Dromcarra and Bawnlea Estate as it is becoming increasingly dangerous for pedestrians to use this space and creating an additional cost to the Council on the cleanup so after the cars are burnt out on the paths and the open spaces in the area. That this Committee further calls on the Chief Executive to provide a permanent solution to stopping access to this area by vehicles.

That this Area Committee provide more signs on roads that lead into Tallaght. We have a sign coming off the Glenview roundabout with Tallaght on it, I believe we should have more of these signs on different roads into Tallaght and on the way out.

That this Committee calls on the Chief Executive to provide a flagpole and Tricolur to Killinarden Community Centre to form part of their 1916 Rising Centenary Commemorations and to consider rolling out a programme to all Community Centres in the Tallaght area with a view to celebrating our National pride in our Heritage.
