QUESTION NO. 1
QUESTION: Councillor M. Devine
"To ask the Chief Executive, as the Waterfall at the Old Bawn Bridge is no longer visible due to tree planting and overgrowth that is full of litter, can we have these trees removed, litter cleaned up and the area properly landscaped to restore this vista for residents and visitors alike?"
REPLY:
The Public Realm Section will carry out works as requested here both to improve visibility of the river and waterfall from the Old Bawn Road, and to improve visibility of the bridge from within the park. Some work will also be carried out to improve access to the river bank from within the park, and to generally clean the area in question. It should be noted that public safety is a major issue here due to the steep nature of the river bank close to the Old Bawn Road, ensuring that the area remains safe after works are carried out will be of major importance.
