QUESTION NO. 9
QUESTION: Councillor B. Ferron
"To ask the Chief Executive if the windows and doors for the resident, Ms. Bolger living at 9 Homelawns Gardens, can be listed for replacement as a matter of urgency and also listed for insulation. I visited this home several times and the windows are in extremely poor condition. Ms. Bolger’s daughter is currently on the medical priority list and is caring for an acutely disabled and blind child in this house. There are grave worries that the conditions in the house such as lack of heat will have a detrimental effect on the health of the child. I understand that there is a replacement programme currently in place but would ask if the Chief Executive would please prioritise this household?"
REPLY:
With reference to the property details supplied, the windows and doors were inspected by the Clerk of Works in January 2015 and were graded 0 i.e. lowest priority with regard to their condition. The windows to the front and ground floor are doubled glazed aluminium and timber doubled glazed to the back. The doors are also doubled glazed. For this reason they do not qualify for inclusion on the Windows & Doors Replacement Programme
With regard to the insulation the address will be listed for consideration for Energy Efficiency Programme.
