QUESTION: Councillor C. O'Connor

"To ask the Chief Executive when he now expects to advertise another round of Community Grants and will he outline plans to ensure that as many local groups in Tallaght as possible can avail of the Grants appreciating their importance to Volunteer Groups?"

REPLY:

The Community Grants process was streamlined last year and is now advertised twice a year following the recommendation of the Social and Community Strategic Policy Committee made in May 2015 which was then agreed by the Full Council in June 2015.

It is anticipated that the next round of Community Grants will be advertised next month and the call for applications will be fully published in local press and on all available social media platforms.

Grant applications will be assessed after the closing date of each advertisement and recommendations brought to the Full Council for approval.
