QUESTION: Councillor C. King

"To ask the Chief Executive to provide a report detailing what works if any have taken place or are due to take place to improve the playing conditions of the pitches in Jobstown Park used by Brookfield Celtic FC and Jobstown Celtic FC?"

REPLY:

During 2015 repairs to the Jobstown Park playing pitches were carried out in the form of re-sodding of damaged areas around goal mouths and other areas which had been damaged by bonfires etc. All goal posts were examined also and repairs to these were carried out as found to be necessary. 

The issue of damage to open spaces by scramblers and quad bikes is currently being examined by the Council to determine if the carrying out of minor works can prevent this type of activity in some locations. This process is underway at present and it is proposed that the Jobstown Park playing pitches will be examined as part of this exercise.
