"To ask the Chief Executive to increase the frequency of cleansing on the cycle route between Lucan Village and the City Centre particularly the section along the N4 which frequently is littered with broken glass and other paraphernalia?"

"To ask the Chief Executive if there has been any response to my motion agreed at the January LAC as follows “This committee requests that the Council contact the owners to Liffey Valley Shopping Centre to get them to bring their signs for “Palmerstown” into line with the correct spelling of the name and secondly write to the NRA and ask that they bring their signs on the M50 and N4 into line with the correct spelling of “Palmerstown”. There is much local concern that four years after the plebiscite to restore the correct place name and spelling, publically funded bodies continue to ignore the wishes of the people or indeed display good practice.”

Qu (10)
Submitted by:
Councillor L. O'Toole
Responsibility:
William Purcell

"To ask the Chief Executive, further to my motions raised in relation to the realignment of the island at the two roundabouts along the Esker Road/Griffeen road, this Area Committee requests the Chief Executive to design additional safety features at both of these locations. As previously discussed the old islands on the roundabouts were left in place when a new desired crossing location was installed with the cycle lane upgrades. These locations have a very high footfall in the evenings and the weekends and are also used regularly by school going children.

To ask that considerations is also given to the lack of a footpath on one side of the road if this area could be improved."

Qu (11)
Submitted by:
Councillor L. O'Toole
Responsibility:
William Purcell

"To ask the Chief Executive to locate speed indicator signs in locations previously raised as areas with safety issues:

  1. Esker Road between Griffeen Park and Finnstown Abbey, the bend in the road results in a blind spot when exiting the estate and this location has had an increase in footfall due to the sports activities in the area.

  2. Hillcrest Junction this is due to the lack of awareness and or carelessness of road users as they approach and leave the lights at this junction.

  3. Other areas that the council management deem necessary."

"That this Area Committee requests the Chief Executive to report on the current status of the handover of the newly completed Adamstown Community/Sports Hall and to review reasons for delays to date. There have been many meeting held over the last two years and plans were put into place to ensure that these unnecessary delays would not arise and it is regretful that both the school and community have to look at a community hall in their locality and not be in a position to access it.
The committee also acknowledges the work and commitment by the local community reps and volunteers that have worked on the many issues and challenges over the years."
