"This Area Committee requests that a joint committee for the Liffey Valley, along the lines of the former Liffey Valley Monitoring Committee be established to further the objective in the 2016-2022 County Development Plan to promote a Liffey Valley Park and that it incorporate both the relevant objectives of the defunct committee as well as those emanating from the Liffey Blueway."
Transportation
Questions
"To ask the Chief Executive for an update on the provision of a 30kph school time speed limit with flashing signs outside St Andrew's National School, Lucan following discussions at several Traffic Management meetings, prior ACMs and a deputation from the Parents Association; and if a statement can be made on the matter?"
"To ask the Chief Executive for a detailed plan and timeframe for agreed footpath works in Palmerstown in 2018?"
"To ask the Chief Executive to present a report on recent difficulties experienced by residents of Hillcrest in seeking to access Newcastle Road due to reduced green time at the traffic signal at the Newcastle Road/Hillcrest junction?"
"To ask the Chief Executive for an update on the double yellow lines which have been approved for Palmerstown Village some time ago?"
"To ask the Chief Executive to please schedule cleansing and environmental works at roundabout at the Lucan/Leixlip road which is currently overgrown and unsightly."
"To ask the Chief Executive to increase the frequency of cleansing on the cycle route between Lucan Village and the City Centre particularly the section along the N4 which frequently is littered with broken glass and other paraphernalia?"
"To ask the Chief Executive if there has been any response to my motion agreed at the January LAC as follows “This committee requests that the Council contact the owners to Liffey Valley Shopping Centre to get them to bring their signs for “Palmerstown” into line with the correct spelling of the name and secondly write to the NRA and ask that they bring their signs on the M50 and N4 into line with the correct spelling of “Palmerstown”. There is much local concern that four years after the plebiscite to restore the correct place name and spelling, publically funded bodies continue to ignore the wishes of the people or indeed display good practice.”
"To ask the Chief Executive, further to my motions raised in relation to the realignment of the island at the two roundabouts along the Esker Road/Griffeen road, this Area Committee requests the Chief Executive to design additional safety features at both of these locations. As previously discussed the old islands on the roundabouts were left in place when a new desired crossing location was installed with the cycle lane upgrades. These locations have a very high footfall in the evenings and the weekends and are also used regularly by school going children.
To ask that considerations is also given to the lack of a footpath on one side of the road if this area could be improved."
"To ask the Chief Executive to locate speed indicator signs in locations previously raised as areas with safety issues:
-
Esker Road between Griffeen Park and Finnstown Abbey, the bend in the road results in a blind spot when exiting the estate and this location has had an increase in footfall due to the sports activities in the area.
-
Hillcrest Junction this is due to the lack of awareness and or carelessness of road users as they approach and leave the lights at this junction.
-
Other areas that the council management deem necessary."
