COMHAIRLE CONTAE ÁTHA CLIATH THEAS
SOUTH DUBLIN COUNTY COUNCIL
MEETING OF LUCAN AREA COMMITTEE

QUESTION NO. 10
QUESTION: Councillor L. O'Toole
"To ask the Chief Exective, further to my motions raised in relation to the realignment of the island at the two roundabouts along the Esker Road/Griffeen road, this Area Committee requests the Chief Executive to design additional safety features at both of these locations. As previously discussed the old islands on the roundabouts were left in place when a new desired crossing location was installed with the cycle lane upgrades. These locations have a very high footfall in the evenings and the weekends and are also used regularly by school going children.
To ask that considerations is also given to the lack of a footpath on one side of the road if this area could be improved."

Plans are in train for some works to be carried out at this location. It is advised that the members include the location for specific upgrade works in the 2019 budget.
