MOTION NO. 1

MOTION: Councillor G. O'Connell

"This Area Committee requests that a joint committee for the Liffey Valley, along the lines of the former Liffey Valley Monitoring Committee be established to further the objective in the 2016-2022 County Development Plan to promote a Liffey Valley Park and that it incorporate both the relevant objectives of the defunct committee as well as those emanating from the Liffey Blueway."

REPORT:

There are currently a number of bodies and projects with a remit in relation to the delivery of projects to promote the Liffey Valley Park. These include Waterways Ireland, Fingal Co. Council and South Dublin County Council through the provisions of the South Dublin County Development Plan 2016-2022 and the County Tourism Strategy. The process of project identification, funding stream identification and preparation of detailed Implementation Plan is still ongoing. As with all such projects a monitoring and implementation system involving all stakeholders will be put in place when project identification and funding streams are in place.
