QUESTION: Councillor D. O'Brien

"To ask the Chief Executive for a report on the caretaker's house in Esker Cemetery, what plan does the Council have for this house and what would the cost be to renovate it?"

REPLY:

Significant attention was drawn to this location during 2017 during the "€300k, have your say" process for the Lucan Electoral Area.

The council is cognisant of the sensitivity associated with the cottage in Old Esker Cemetery and a meeting was held with local residents from Esker Lawns in January 2018 in this regard.

While there are no current plans for the building, it is proposed to undertake a full inspection to determine both the internal and external condition, after which consideration can be given to potential, if any, appropriate use(s).
