Motions
That this Area Committee given the serious road safety risks at St. Mary's National School, Saggart, with over 600 pupils and heavy traffic at drop-off and collection times, urgently carry out a road safety assessment and consider providing a dedicated school crossing lollipop lady within the next three months to ensure the safety of the children and their families
That this Area Committee assess the traffic situation outside St. Finian's National School in Newcastle, particularly at peak school times (9:00 am, 1:40 pm and 2:40 pm), and consider installing a safe pedestrian crossing, such as a zebra crossing, pedestrian crossing, or supervised 'lollipop' crossing to improve safety for the children attending the school.
Cathaoirleach’s Business
That this Area Committee requests a detailed report that elaborates on any opposition from local residents to a new footpath between Millbrook Nursing Home and Saggart Village which includes next steps and how SDCC will address the serious health and safety issues and concerns along this road with no footpath.
Reference for request - Development Plan Meeting - 1st March 2022 Motion Detail Ref SD-C195-64 from Saggart Village Residents' Association (P627 CE Report), that an SLO be added under SM2 Objective 5 ''to improve the safety of the road for pedestrians between Millbrook Nursing Home and Saggart Village.'' (There is currently no footpath on Castle Road beyond Drury Mills. This is a barrier for residents accessing community facilities on foot and a safety issue).)

Cathaoirleach’s Business
That this Area Committee requests directional signage for Knockmitten Community Centre to inform the public where this valuable community resource is.
That this Area Committee gives priority to repair of footpaths on Oak Rise Greenpark. There are mature trees lining the street and have lifted the footpaths here. These are causing trip hazards all along this street and have, due to apparent oversight, not been addressed in recent years. In particular, the large tree outside ADDRESS SUPPLIED has roots entering drains and telecom service boxes.
That this Area Committee agrees that the Council shall provide for a safe pedestrian route to Sacred Heart School, Sruleen, from Green Isle Road and to provide for safe crossings at the junction of Hazelwood Crescent and also the junction of Oakway/Willow Drive and to give strong consideration to provide a crossing assistant (lollipop lady) for this School.
That this Area Committee agrees that the road name sign for Woodford Terrace in Clondalkin will be reinstated. This has previously been requested under Members Rep 1857416 in November 2024, Members Rep 1867663 in February 2026, Members Rep 1879354 in May 2025 and Members Rep 1894993 in October 2025, to no avail.
