Further to Motion 17 from the October 2025 Clondalkin Area Committee Meeting, South Dublin County Council continues to engage with the National Transport Authority (NTA) in relation to the provision of additional bus stops on the Hazelhatch Road (R405) between the Grand Canal and Newcastle Village to facilitate the W6 bus service.

The locations for the proposed bus stops have now been finalised, and the scheme is currently at detailed design stage. Subject to approval by the NTA, it is proposed to proceed to Road Safety Audit. It is currently estimated that, subject to the completion of these processes and all necessary approvals, construction will commence in Q3.
