QUESTION: Councillor E. Ó Broin
To ask the Chief Executive if there are any prospects for a bike lane from Newcastle Village to Hazelhatch Train Station being constructed along the R405?
REPLY:
A cycleway on the R405 between Newcastle and Hazelhatch Train Station is not included in the Active Travel Programme of Works set out in Cycle South Dublin and funded by the NTA. The Cycle South Dublin programme network is an ambitious plan to provide 263km of cycle Network across 134km of South Dublin’s road network and greenways.
A scheme to study a cycleway along this section of the R405 may be considered in the future, once the Cycle South Dublin Network has been completed.
