MOTION: Councillor L. de Courcy
That this Area Committee, in light of recent proposals by the Executive to install a public toilet in Clondalkin village, in effect a storage container, asks the Council to review its decision not to install storage containers for resident’s associations and Tidy Towns in public spaces.
REPORT:
The Public Toilet Location Assessment report that was presented to the ACM in February 2026 provides details of sites examined for the provision of a public toilet facility in Clondalkin Village. A public toilet by design provides a service to members of the public. There is no correlation or similarity between the service that a public toilet provides and the function of a storage container. The Councils decision not to install storage containers for resident associations and Tidy Towns in public spaces will not be affected or changed by the Clondalkin Village Public Toilet exercise which is currently ongoing.
