That this Tallaght Area Committee confirms its strong support for the Local Policing Forum in Tallaght West, appreciating the importance of the Forum to the local community and will he now confirm that a meeting of the Committee will be held immediately to arrange for a public meeting, noting that it is now several months since such meetings were held.

That this Committee calls on the Chief Executive to provide a report regarding the Window and Door Replacement Programme, outlining the cost of such replacement in the average three bedroom social house, how long the current contract has to run and if he would consider a grant scheme for tenants to allow them access their own installations?

"To ask the Chief Executive for the completion date on the cycle track in Tallaght village?"

"To ask the Chief Executive to please report if there is an intention to carry out a survey of ramps in the Tallaght area and to indicate if there is a programme of maintenance proposed to repair those ramps in need of repair?"

"To ask the Chief Executive to erect children at play signs in the Carrigmore area. I understand the Developer is still in charge. However, there is ongoing issue with the taking of charge in the last number of years. For that reason, I asking that the Council please erect these signs".

The entrance into the school is quite a dangerous spot and I have been contacted by residents complaining that no plan seems to be in place to provide cover once the current lollipop lady leaves the position".

"To ask the Chief Executive if he will confirm that efforts are being made to restore the Charlie O'Toole Memorial Name Stone on the bridge across the Tallaght By-Pass at St Dominics noting previous commitments that the Name Stone, which originally marked the first bridge which was opened  in 1979 would be restored at the new bridge".

That this Committee calls on the Chief Executive to arrange for the removal of graffiti from all directional signs and National Road signs in the Tallaght area.

That this Committee asks the Chief Executive to look into providing a second entrance to the Tallaght hospital through Cookstown Industrial Estate. This would provide less traffic going out the main entrance and help stop the present gridlock at times. It will also help people that travel to the hospital from all the different areas of the county and assist as another rout for the ambulance service to the hospital.

That this Committee requests that the surface drains (it has been clarified these are the responsibility of SDCC and not Irish Water) can be inspected by the Drains Department on the road outside 136 The Crescent Millbrook Lawns. The main surface drain is backing up and is causing flooding and myself and the residents have been in contact with the Council several times regarding the issue. The Council have been out previously to jet the drains but the issues still remain. I have been contacted by several residents who are fearful that their houses will flood come winter as a result.

"To ask the Chief Executive to make a report to this Committee regarding what efforts, if any, have been taken to remove posters which have emerged in all areas of Tallaght containing statements or contain threatening messages on them and if any efforts have been made to identify the organisation behind these posters and will any fines ensue?"

That this Committee calls on the Chief Executive to investigate feasible options to improve the security and safety of patrons using Bohernabreena Cemetry in an effort to curb the increased number of robberies in the Cemetry which has left users feeling vulnerable while grieving their loved ones

That this Committee supports requests from staff, pupils and the wider community at Scoil Aonghusa Snr School, Balrothery to the erection of goal post at the disused field adjacent to its grounds.

That this Committee calls on the Chief Executive to give assurances that there will be no further delays in progressing tenders for the proposed Playground at Tymon Park Tallaght and will he provide details of the schedule now to be followed and information as to what is to be provided.

Item Number 45991 submitted at Tallaght ACM 28th September to be re entered for October meeting to be dealt with purely as a safety issue -

That this Committee asks the Chief Executive to report on the serious risk to health and safety at the new road lay out at Springfield in Tallaght . The new road lay out will create a serious risk to health and safety due to the close nature of sporting games been played at St Marks GAA Club. The pitches are very close to the roadway and a curtain net will be required to stop cars been hit with football and slitters when games are taking place at this venue. 

 

That this Committee asks that the Chief Executive ensures that the entrance to the Basketball Arena is secured at night- quads, motorbikes and cars are using the grounds as a race track and unacceptable asb. It requires a barrier where 2 ineffective bollards are situated and for the existing steel barrier be secured nightly.
