QUESTION: Councillor M. Duff

"To ask the Chief Executive to make a report outlining the progress of the transitional housing in Tallaght Cross Apartments and to detail if any tenants have transferred to Social Housing?"

REPLY: 

65 Families were moved from Hotel and Emergency Accommodation to Tallaght Cross with the objective of lessening the burdens being experienced by families living in such facilities and to afford them an opportunity to work with dedicated staff to find HAP properties.   The units are fully serviced apartment units with cooking and laundry facilities.  Focus Ireland Team of Keyworkers and Accommodation Finders have been working closely with families to seek suitable accommodation under the HAP Scheme. 

To date, there have been 3 families who have successfully sought Private Rented Accommodation under the HAP Scheme and there have been two further nominations to Voluntary Housing Properties (one of which was advertised on CBL) which are awaiting allocation.
