MOTION NO. 7

MOTION: Councillor M. Devine

That this Committee supports requests from staff, pupils and the wider community at Scoil Aonghusa Snr School, Balrothery to the erection of goal post at the disused field adjacent to its grounds.

REPORT:

The request to provide a pitch for the use of Scoil Aonghusa was on the agenda of the September meeting of the Tallaght Area Committee.  It was outlined at that meeting that the area in question is currently allocated to a local football club, however it appears not to be in use at present. A commitment was given to the meeting that a further report on the matter would be presented to the November meeting of the committee, and that in the meantime the Council's Public Realm section would establish the current position regarding the usage of the pitch.  A commitment was also give to make contact with Scoil Aonghusa on the matter. This issue is still being examined and the further report commited to will be presented to the November meeting of the Tallaght Area Committee as agreed.
