The Clondalkin Tidy Towns Group needs a location in the village to store it's tools and to hold meetings etc.  This group is doing excellent work and needs the help of the council with this.  To ask the Manager if space can be found in one of the buildings in the Clondalkin Village area to facilitate the Tidy Towns group in continuing their excellent work?

That this Committee agrees to establish a sub committee as allowed under Standing Order 57 to review the planning and management of Halloween 2013 and input to the planning and management of Halloween 2014; the sub committee should hold at least two meetings to facilitate consultation with relevant stakeholders in the areas covered by the two Clondalkin safety fora; these meetings should take place in the first quarter of 2014; managers from both Community Services and Public Realm should attend the meetings of the sub committee; the report from the sub committee should be presented to both the Clondalkin Area Committee and to the recently established sub committee of the Sports, Recreation, Community & Parks SPC dealing with the same topic.

To ask the Manager what is the timeframe for the pedestrian crossing on the Coldcut Road which crosses from the St Bernadette's Schools side to Glenfield.  Will this crossing be signal controlled with lights and will there be two sets of lights or one?  As the road is very wide at this location will sufficient time be given to ensure people get across the road safely and is it possible to allow extra time at busy crossing times such as school opening and closing times?

Given that there are now a number of Zebra Crossings in the Clondalkin Area, namely at Convent Road and on the Neilstown Road, and that drivers often ignore such crossings and that pedestrians often assume that cars will stop for them at these crossings, that this Committee calls on the Manager to investigate the possibility of a public information  campaign being organised to educate drivers and pedestrians on the safe use of zebra crossings.
