MOTION NO. 11

MOTION: Councillor T. Gilligan

That the Manager explains why neither leaves nor bags left by Residents Associations/Groups at various locations in the Clondalkin EA, were not collected by the Council.

REPORT:

The Public Realm Section works in partnership with community groups and resident associations throughout the county.  The Council has developed and fostered good working relationships with numerous groups and organizes regular removal of bags of rubbish, leaves etc that are collected by groups as part of their community clean ups/Tidy Towns initiatives.   Wherever possible bags of material are removed as soon after the cleanup take place once the details of such are coordinated and agreed with the Environment Department, Communication and Awareness Staff in County Hall.  Should Resident Associations/Groups still have bags that have not been collected details of the group and location of material should be forwarded to the Communication and Awareness Staff for processing.
