MOTION NO. 15

MOTION: Councillor B. Bonner

Given that there are now a number of Zebra Crossings in the Clondalkin Area, namely at Convent Road and on the Neilstown Road, and that drivers often ignore such crossings and that pedestrians often assume that cars will stop for them at these crossings, that this Committee calls on the Manager to investigate the possibility of a public information  campaign being organised to educate drivers and pedestrians on the safe use of zebra crossings. 

REPORT:

Driver Education is a national issue and is the responsibility of the Road Safety Authority. The matter will be referred to the RSA.
