QUESTION NO. 5
QUESTION: Councillor E. Ó Broin
To ask the Manager for a report on the implications of the ongoing service level agreement negotiations with Irish water for the SDCC staff and assets in the water service currently working and based in Clondalkin and to indicate whether it is the intention of the Council to retain these staff as SDCC employees under their current terms and conditions or whether some other arrangement is being considered as part of the SLA negotiations with Irish Water?
REPLY:
The basis of the Service Level Agreement (SLA) being negotiated with Irish Water is that South Dublin County Council will continue to deliver water services. The term of the SLA as agreed by the National Consultative Forum is for twelve years. It is furthermore part and parcel of the SLA that the Council will be recouped for staff costs associated with delivering water services and as such the staff will remain employees of the Council.
