SOUTH DUBLIN COUNTY COUNCIL
MEETING OF CLONDALKIN AREA COMMITTEE

MOTION NO. 8
MOTION: Councillor E. Ó Broin
That this Committee agrees to establish a sub committee as allowed under Standing Order 57 to review the planning and management of Halloween 2013 and input to the planning and management of Halloween 2014; the sub committee should hold at least two meetings to facilitate consultation with relevant stakeholders in the areas covered by the two Clondalkin safety fora; these meetings should take place in the first quarter of 2014; managers from both Community Services and Public Realm should attend the meetings of the sub committee; the report from the sub committee should be presented to both the Clondalkin Area Committee and to the recently established sub committee of the Sports, Recreation, Community & Parks SPC dealing with the same topic.
REPORT:
The Sports, Recreation, Community & Parks SPC has recently established a subcommittee to carry out this review across the county. It is considered best to avoid a duplication of effort by establishing other committees to carry out similar roles however the Member's motion will be passed to the SPC subcommittee for consideration of how it might take input from the broader Membership of the Council, Council officials and members of the community.
