"That the Manager report to this Committee on what measures can be taken to stop non- residential parking at the Dodder Valley Park at Mount Carmel Estate.

Dog walkers are parking causing obstruction to residents and utility services. Could double yellow lines solve the problem or could signs be placed at the entrance to Mount Carmel Park directing motorists to the carpark on the Firhouse Road."

Mot (3)
Submitted by:
Councillor J. Lahart
Responsibility:
John McLoughlin

"That this Committee agrees:

That the NRA deliver immediately on its commitments with regard to the landscaping of the Southern Cross Route leg of the M50 from Balrothery to the county boundary with Dun Laoghaire Rathdown which it has so far failed to deliver on - the landscaping is substandard and pathetic; indeed the Roads Director committed to allocating 'final' funding towards such much-needed work;

and the complete landscaping of St Colmcille's Way from Orlagh Roundabout to the M50 interchange be included in this work;

and that the contents of this motion be submitted directly to the NRA with a view to receiving a formal speedy response."

Mot (4)
Submitted by:
Councillor E. Coburn
Responsibility:

"That this Committee discuss with the aid of a report the traffic management measures that are in place in the vicinity of Whitechurch National School and to outline the plans of SDCC to address the concerns raised by the Board of Management of the school."

Mot (5)
Submitted by:
Councillor P. Cosgrave

"That the Manager prepare a design for marked out parking spaces at the shops at Orchardstown Park and to be included in this years roads budget."

Mot (6)
Submitted by:
Councillor J. Lahart
Responsibility:
Seamus Fagan

"That this Committee agrees that every effort should be made to ensure that funding be secured as a matter of urgency for the completion of phase 2 of the Whitechurch Traffic Calming Scheme, from the Taylor's Lane/Grange Road junction to College Road; and considers the failure to do so as a matter of urgency a serious matter concerning the health and safety of children - particularly those attending Whitechurch National School."

"That the Manager update this Committee with regard to the possibility of this Council extinguishing its ownership of the land to the rear of houses *address supplied*; you may recall that at the last ACM it was agreed that the Council would determine whether or not there were any impediments to the possible transfer of this land to the residents and if there were no such impediments that this Council would expedite the compulsory registration of the land to facilitate the transfer."

"That the Manager give a report on the derelict hoarding at Stockingwell Stockingwood. The area is very dangerous for children and a report from the Planners should be referred to the Health and Safety Authority."

Mot (10)

Councillor A-M. Dermody

"That the Manager provide an overview with regard to the planning encroachment which has occurred at Palmer Park * address supplied. I see from the Manager's reply to my question at the Area Committee Meeting last month that while the materials to enable the works necessary to resolve the planning issues are on site no works have been carried out'. If it is the case that the planning enforcement process has completed despite the agreed works having been completed, is it the case then that the residents of Palmer Park must now pursue the 'developer' in a civil type action so as to enforce the terms of the settlement? I would ask the Manager along with all the Councillors for the area to attend at the home of the Palmer Park resident so as to truly understand the seriousness of this situation, these people have seen their property seriously devalued as a result of this encroachment or put another way this Council through its negligence in granting planning on property that was in the ownership of this Council have allow this injustice to be done. This matter is now going on for in excess of the 9 years and accordingly is completely intolerable and unacceptable."

"To ask the Manager to please confirm that Dodder Valley Park, specifically at the Kilvere entrance is included in the anti-dog fouling stencil programme and to ask the manager to include additional bins at both the Kilvere entrance & the Springfield entrance to the park.  To ask that the paths in this Park be cleared back of moss and the grass in all of the Park be cut and maintained and not just the grass area to the rear of the Shopping Centre.  Please also note that the grass cutting in the biggest green area was started but not completed and this too needs to be attended to.  Can you also supply me with an up to date with regard to the ponding of the paths in this Park which I submitted at the last Area Committee meeting (Q6) and in reply the matter was to be investigated and fuller reply is still awaited?"
