Questions

Qu (4)
Submitted by:
Councillor F.N. Duffy
Responsibility:

"To ask the Chief Executive that a resident of Brookvale Downs witnessed SDCC trees being cut down to the west of Brookvale Downs. She very courageously followed the perpetrator, while liaising with the Garda at the same time. A SDCC official visited the site in question to record the damage. What type of action can be taken by SDCC when this practice happens to compensate those who loose their amenity?"

Qu (5)
Submitted by:

"To ask the Chief Executive whether a gate can be installed on the entry way between Glenmore Court and Whitechurch Walk. It is the only entry without gates and can be a hotspot for illegal dumping and anti social behaviour?"

Councillor J. Lahart

Motions

Mot (2)
Submitted by:
Councillor S. Holland
Responsibility:
Leo Magee, Oisin Egan

"That the Chief Executive install fencing around the border of the pitches area at Whitechurch.  Quads and motorbikes are destroying this valuable community asset. An Garda have stated previously during the JPC that they are impossible to police, as giving chase endangers the driver of the quad or motorbike, plus all nearby traffic.  Children play in this area too - we need to cut off vehicular access to the pitches and green area."

Mot (3)
Submitted by:
Councillor D. O'Donovan
Responsibility:
Leo Magee

"That the Chief Executive arranges for stone signs to be put in place at both ends of the Marian Road, Rathfarnham, as previously requested by the Butterfield and District Residents Association."

Mot (4)
Submitted by:
Councillor P. Foley
Responsibility:
Leo Magee
"That the Chief Executive note that I have been dealing with the RA in Parklands estate beside Ballycragh Park – link to map below

https://www.google.ie/maps/@53.2734262,-6.3396933,17z?hl=en

I am proposing that we put a new pedestrian entrance to the park from Parklands Road around 4 meters down from the entrance to Parklands View.

From this new entrance, lay a new tarmac pathway to meet up with the existing pathway within the park.

I would also like to see a swing gate installed at the pedestrian entrance to Parklands view. This should minimise the significant ASBO behaviour that the residents of Parklands view are currently experiencing."

"To ask the Chief Executive that Members had previously asked that this council liaise with Dun Laoghaire -Rathdown regarding the Marlay Park concerts.  Specifically, we asked that DLR provide a financial kickback to the residents on this side of the county divide, as residents of DLR enjoy some benefits from the income the concerts provide, whereas residents on this side do not.

Please outline to this council what the outcome of this was?"

"That the Chief Executive liaise with Dublin Bus to ensure that there is enough public transport available to take concert goers both into town and over to Dundrum. Part of the problem that residents, including myself, encounter is the crowds wandering around trying to exit the area. Dublin Bus do provide extra no.16s but the lack of transport is a problem every year."

"That this committee recommends that the house known as St. Roch's on Taylor's Lane, Rathfarnham, be entered on the list of preserved/conservation structures of the county."

Councillor D. O'Donovan
Responsibility:

"That the Chief Executive clarifies the situation regarding access to the proposed development at rear of Pearse Brothers Park - planning ref: SD14A/0280.

Residents have received conflicting information regarding the safety of the existing Taylor's Lane/Whitechurch Road junction and the right traffic turning movements into Pearse Bros Park.

Given that there are bus lanes and cycle lanes in place, traffic from Ballyboden has to enter the bus lane to avoid right turning traffic.

They would welcome clarification on this issue."

"That the Chief Executive reinstates the double yellow lines on Beechdale Road near the entrance to Lidl in Ballycullen.  At the point where the new SLOW sign has been put in place, and where the double yellow lines have been removed, cars are parking there, forcing cars turning off the Old Court Road onto the far side of the road, right into the path of traffic exiting the Lidl store.  Residents are very concerned that the situation is an accident waiting to happen."

Councillor D. Looney

"That this Committee be presented with the full range of options considered in the Walkinstown Roundabout Study, and that this Committee refuses to support or endorse any changes at this junction in the absence of a full briefing with all Councillors representing the area in SDCC and Dublin City Council, and in the absence of consultation with local stakeholders."
