QUESTION NO. 6

QUESTION: Councillor S. Holland

"To ask the Chief Executive whether a gate can be installed on the entry way between Glenmore Court and Whitechurch Walk. It is the only entry without gates and can be a hotspot for illegal dumping and anti social behaviour?"

REPLY:

The proposal to install a gate at the entry way between Glenmore Court and Whitechurch Walk has been examined.  The entry way in question has a low wall on either side which can be easily crossed and it is felt that the installation of a gate at this location would not be effective and would encourage people to cross the wall and possibly increase the incidence of anti-social behaviour here.  The Council's Public Realm Section is not in favour of carrying out the work requested here however the matter can be examined on the ground further to determine how best to deal with the issues which arise at this location.
