There are 8,793 applications on the Council's social housing waiting. Applicant's choose their area of preference based on Area of Choice, North and South of Naas Road. Through Choice Based Letting System, applicants subsequently express their interest in our properties when they arise. It is not possible to extract information by postcode, as requested.
There are currently 6,368 who have chosen South of Naas Road which would include the Rathfarnham/Terenure Area and 5,707 stated preference for North of Naas Road. It should be noted that some applicants have chosen both housing areas. In cases of those seeking medical priority, we endeavour to consider persons area of choice, however, this is subject to the availability of suitable properties at the time, having considering to any specific medical needs and urgency to be accommodated.
