Parks
Questions
"To ask the Manager to include in the arboricultural programme the trees in the cul de sac at No. 27 Ballyroan Heights, these trees (three in total) have become overgrown & are in need of urgent cutting back. The residents are elderly and are forced to take up barrow loads of fallen leaves so as to avoid slipping. The tree to the left of No. 27 also blocks out the natural light from the front garden?"
"To ask the Manager to examine one of the tall trees at the cul de sac at Marian Drive, Rathfarnham, which is seriously overlooking residence in Charleville Square and a source of potential danger and debris - and can the Manager provide assurance that it will be included in a very immmediate works programme as per the request of resident nine months ago?"

"I raised the need for a proper set of footsteps and railing from Woodview Cottages to Dodder Valley Road some time ago and all we got was a smattering of tarmac - can this be revisited please in the interest of pedestrian safety - particularly local senior residents."
"That this Committee discuss with the aid of a report the replanting program for Westbourne Lodge along the perimeter fence with Ballyboden GAA club of shrubbery and spring bulbs. In addition for an update on the maintenance and safety management of the boundary fence."
"That the Manager review the protracted correspondence relating to the issue of overgrown trees in the Delaford Area (sent by email). Please assess and confirm the average time it is taking the Council to attend to such matters. This Resident states that this issue was reported to Parks as far back as 2010 with no progress to date. Please explain the delay in this case."

"That the Manager give a report to this Committee on the footpath at the side of house 1 Edwards Court down to Edmonstown Road at the side of house 12 Beechview to include.
1. Clearance of briars and weeds and litter.
2. Green areas to be covered with bark mulch to stop further growth.
3. The owner of the yard next to the footpath to be contacted to remove dangerous and ugly wire fence and fence supports.
4. The owner to straighten and secure palisade fence at the top of the footpath."
"That the Manager report on what progress has been made regarding the removal of the bottle bank at St. Endas, Grange Road and its location to an other site. It has been two months since this Committee agreed for its removal from the Grange Road site."
Water & Drainage
Questions
"To ask the Manager to outline the latest position with regard to a solution to the flooding that took place in Castlefield/Glenvara and Glenlyon estates in 2011 - to explain why residents were not informed of the retirement/change of key personnel in this area and that residents had to discover this for themselves?"

"That the Manager remove the existing sewage outflow from the shops on Taylors Lane away from the back gardens of houses 13,14,15 Moyville Lawn. Commercial waste from Londis, the hairdresser and the Pharmacy is constantly blocking the manholes in Moyville Lawn at much cost to the residents having to rectify the problems."
Roads
Questions
"To ask the Manager to review the alleged dangerous parking in the vicinity of Knocklyon Lodge on Knocklyon Road at the bend which is causing concern during rush hour traffic, and determine if road markings are required to prevent this?"
"To ask the Manager to carry out kerb repairs, opposite the entrance to the new library, damaged during the building of the library. While in the area if you could please include kerb repairs at No.1 Silverwood Road which appears to be badly damaged and it too is in need of repairs?"
"To ask the Manager what progress has been made since this matter was last brought to the Manager's attention. You might recall that it has been reported over the course of the last year or more the flooding of the footpath along Marian Road near the park wall. During episodes of heavy rain pedestrians are forced off the path to avoid the flooding. Please can you inspect and report back as to the cause of the flooding, a likely solution and confirmation as to when the work will be done."
"To ask the Manager to clarify why (a) a reduced speed limit is not possible to establish within residential areas and estate in the county and (b) could a Res Assoc, such as Prospect Manor, for example, on behalf of the people living in their estate, request that a reduced speed limit be introduced into their own estate exclusively e.g 30km/h speed limit?"

"That the Manager give a report to this Committee on measures that can be put in place to slow residential traffic speed at Prospect Drive up to Prospect View to include. • Go slow road markings on the road surface. • A temporary placement of the mobile traffic digital speed unit."
"That a new sign for Hermitage Estate be inserted in the boundary wall at the estate on Grange Road."
"That the Manager report back following inspection on the condition of the roads and paths in Fonthill Abbey and as such confirm that the necessary repair work will be included in the paths upgrade programme for the area. There is a sizeable pothole and broken road surfaces close to the entrance and in along on the left hand side. Broken kerbs need repairing and there is a marked drop in path surfaces which in turn is a tripping hazard. Please also provide a timeframe for the completion of such works."
"That the Manager give a report on the 2014 ramp repair programme for the Ballyroan/Butterfield areas."
"That the Manager examine the suggestion from Rathfarnham Traders/Tidy Village representatives that the first three or four parking spaces on the eastern side of the village at the northern entrance (opposite the entrance to the graveyard and outside the Credit Union) could be examined for removal as they actually block two lane movement in and out of the village. If the first three or four spaces were removed traffic would flow more easily into the village."
"That the Manager provide an overview as to the acceptable quality of footpaths, in the Rathfarnham Ward so as to ensure that there is no health and safety concerns. For example where there is a marked difference in path surfaces, caused by tree roots or otherwise, what is the Council's legal obligations to its citizens. There are examples of such differences in levels where the Council have repaired the paths and have failed/neglected to match new levels to existing path levels."
