MOTION NO. 5

MOTION: Councillor P. Cosgrave

Cathaoirleach's Business

"That the Manager give a report to this Committee on the footpath at the side of house 1 Edwards Court down to Edmonstown Road at the side of house 12 Beechview to include.

1. Clearance of briars and weeds and litter.

2. Green areas to be covered with bark mulch to stop further growth.

3. The owner of the yard next to the footpath to be contacted to remove dangerous and ugly wire fence and fence supports.

4. The owner to straighten and secure palisade fence at the top of the footpath."

REPORT:

The footpath and walkway at the side of 1 Edwards Court Rathfarnham was recently inspected by the Public Realm Section. This footpath leads from Edwards Court estate to the Edmonstown Road and is generally in a very poor and unkempt condition. With regard to the works requested in this motion it is confirmed as follows;

1. The clearance of briars, weeds and litter along the boundaries to the walkway will be scheduled for completion during the week commencing 9/12/13.

2. All cleared areas are to be covered with bark mulch to provide a neater appearance and to inhibit re-growth.

3. The owner of the nearby yard has been contacted and has agreed to remove the broken down chainlink wire fencing and supports.

4. The owner of the palisade fencing located at the top of the path will be written to and requested to straighten and secure the fencing, as necessary.
