QUESTION NO. 5
QUESTION: Councillor E. Coburn
"To ask the Manager to review the alleged dangerous parking in the vicinity of Knocklyon Lodge on Knocklyon Road at the bend which is causing concern during rush hour traffic, and determine if road markings are required to prevent this?"
REPLY:
Parking occurs on Knocklyon Road around Knocklyon Lodge and it is permitted including a designated disabled parking space. Cars have been observed to pass the parked vehicles with room for cars in both directions. Delivery lorries yield before passing the parked cars. The location is traffic calmed. At rush hour traffic will be congested for a number of reasons when parking or similar activities will occur in any case. Modification to the roadmarkings are not proposed.
