MOTION NO. 6

MOTION: Councillor P. Cosgrave

"That the Manager report on what progress has been made regarding the removal of the bottle bank at St. Endas, Grange Road and its location to an other site. It has been two months since this Committee agreed for its removal from the Grange Road site."

REPORT:

Discussions have been held with the site manager in the OPW requesting access to the car park on Fortification Hill and the request has now been submitted to the Director in the National Botanic Gardens who oversees the lands at St Endas Park, Rathfarnham for consideration.

In the meantime it is proposed to remove the units from their current location and store in the Ballymount Depot until agreement, if any, can be reached with the adjoining landowner. If no agreement is reached the Council will seek alternative sites on public land with adequate parking facilities and access arrangements.
